With InstantPieChart.com, it's easy to make pie charts and insert them into virtually any project or web site.
First, decide what type of pie chart you'd like by clicking next to "3 dimensional" or "2 dimensional." (You can easily switch types later in your visit without having to re-enter all the information.) If you'd like, give your chart a title, such as "Office Snacks." Next, decide how big you'd like your chart to be: small (500x200 pixels), medium (740x275 pixels) or large (850x350 pixels).
Now, create the "segments" of your pie chart by typing in a segment title to the right of each numbered segment prompt, followed by (in the smaller box) the number value or percentage for the segment. For example, you could make Segment 1 "popcorn," Segment 2 "donuts" and Segment 3 "cheese doodles," with the numbers being how many people consumed each snack. If your chart requires more segments, click on "add another segment" and a new set of boxes will appear. If you change your mind, simply click "remove."
InstantPieChart.com includes a customizable color picker. Click in the white box to the right of a segment line and the picker will pop up. Then, click on the bar (hue saturation map) and then in the grid (brightness map) to select the color you want for that segment. You can also manually enter a web-friendly hex value in the box provided. If you prefer not to pick colors, this site will automatically generate your pie chart in hues of a single color. Or, you can custom-select one color and InstantPieChart.com will closely match it for the remaining segments. Now, just click "draw chart" and your custom pie chart will appear!
Import the Pie Chart Into Your Project
To insert the pie chart into your project, such as a Word document, PowerPoint presentation, etc., right-click on the chart image and select "Copy Image." (On a Mac, hold the Control key and click.) Immediately click on your project and select "Paste" under the Edit menu (or shortcut Cntl+V). The chart will appear at its actual size. To place the pie chart on your web site, right-click and select "Copy Image Location" (On a Mac, it's "Copy Image Address"). The Paste command will reveal the URL for the chart, and you can include it on your site by using an image tag in your html like this:
<img src="paste URL here" />
